Guitar Hero... awesome!!!
My girlfriend gave me Guitar Hero for Christmas.... all I can say is that it is awesome!! I love this thing, it is sooo cool.. The medium level is where I am at now, and it rocks. I just wish they had some songs from the likes of AC/DC, Ratt, Inxs, U2, Depeche Mode, Lenny Kravitz, etc... hopefully they will come out with more song discs.

Guitar Hero... awesome!!!
It's much like those Dance Dance Revolution games.. except instead of a dance pad or the regular controler you have a guitar controller.. the neck has 5 fret buttons and there is a strum bar where you would strum strings on a real guitar...
Basically you play it by holding down the appropriate color fret button based on what it is showing you on the screen as can be seen below. ![]() While holding down the fret buttons you strum the strum bar (where a real guitar player would strum the strings) and if you do in sinc with the screen you make beautiful music... :buttrock: ![]() It is waaaay cool! And easy to learn, I am done with the "easy" and "medium" levels and moving up to the "hard" level. There is also an "expert" level.. but I doubt I will be able to make it out of the "hard" level... as you have to use all 5 fret buttons, which involves moving your hand around, and that's TOUGH! I first saw this at a store late December.. I picked it up and started playing Joan Jett's "I Love Rock and Roll" It was so much fun.. epsecially since I don't know how to play a guitar, or any musical instrument for that matter.... I had to have it. Trish got it for me for Christmas. If you ever wanted to play a guitar, but were too lazy to learn (like me) get this.. it will be one of the best games you can get for your PS2 and it's reasonably priced at $69 from most sources. |

Re: Guitar Hero... awesome!!!
I thought Guitar Hero 2 had some better features, especially in the multiplayer modes, and the option to speed up/slow down a song or play only a section of it in the practice area is a really good idea.
Having said all that, I personally didn't find the song selection as good as in the first one, but that's probably down to personal taste.

Re: Guitar Hero... awesome!!!
Well that's the nice thing about this game. No previous experience required
Nice idea about the 'guitar' controllers though as I love playing a song leaping off the couch or with the guitar behind my head - a little thing called showmanship ![]()
