iMac

I had this machine for about 3-4 years .
It's the 600mhz G3 ( i think it's G3 ) with 1g of ram ( PC133 ) 40G HD, and CD Burner.
I'm looking to get a DVD Burner for it so I can swap it with that CD burner . But that's a Hard task to find it . I just want it in there so I can Burn DVD Movies that I'll make once a blue moon .

I did upgrade the operatin system from OS X to Newer OS X . I like the way the machine works and all that , but there is one thing that gets me a litle upset .

To go from OS X 10.3.#.# to OS X 10.4.#.# You need to dish out a nice chunk of change . I was lucky that I paid $0 for the 10.3 ( Panther I think ) .

Instalation was no problem .

But Later i found that I can't use any of the applications that I dounloaded for 10.2 on my new 10.3 OS . They don't want to work .

So since that time I don't batter to use that machine as P.C. ( Personal Computer ) . It's more of Internet, Im, Movie editing machine , Oh and Digital Camera Download machine .

So It's On 24/7 , and it dose not freeaze like a Windows machine would after a week of running 24/7 . It's a good machine , but it has it's cons .

No. I mean that the iMac will run for mounths before is freezes on 3rd party softwere . When My Windows Runing PC would freze on a screen saver that comes with windows .

And I would have over 1gig of ram in bouth machines .

Buying an iMac instead of a REAL computer is like buying a crappy used car for twice as much as a much better new car.

Sure, it doesn't crash, but it's less useful when it's working than a PC that doesn't work.

/anti everything apple

Since I animate a lot, and am trying to start photoshopping, a Mac would be better for me, It's better for design purposes. But thats really the only reason I's choose one over a Cindows. And they look cooler, but I wouldn't decide whether or not to buy one with that pro.
