Yeah, burnout is such a great car racing game. For every consle I have, I must have a racing game. Usally burnout or GT. If I had a PSP, I would 100% Pick burnout. My friend says he's playing it loads

Deffiently a must buy for the psp!

Good Games

I'd have to repeat 2 of the above:

Burnout (especially)
and Wipeout!

I remember them on PS2 (and PS), those are good memories! How they've changed!

Re: Good Games

I have noticed there is really not that many games and they are also not that good in my opinion.

Daxter

I also heard many of the titles are lackluster.

For what I understand, however, is that the Daxter game (a character from Naughty Dog's Jak franchise) is the exception. Anyone have the chance to test this out first hand?

Re: Good Games

I have played Daxter, and was very dissapointed with it. I bought it after seeing all the hype, and was really enjoying it, when suddenly the story ended. I finished the whole game within 3 days, and I'm not a particularly fast gamer. But yes, a good game up to that point. On the other hand, because I took it back within a week to the shop, I got back all the money I spent on it, so no problems

Good games I've played on the PSP are probably...

GTA Vice City Stories and Liberty City Stories (both excellent)
Breath of Fire
Worms: Open Warfare
Archer Maclean's Mercury

So not vast numbers, no.

That seems to be a big criticism towards the Naughty Dog line in general: the games are just too short. I had wished to hear better things about the Daxter game since I really enjoyed the brief trials in Jak 2 and Jak 3 that featured Daxter rather than the namesake character.

It is a shame that you don't have the game for PSP anymore. Jak X has unlockable drivers and a racing vehicle only unlockable by porting the Daxter game information onto the PS2's memory card.

Re: Good Games

I am going to ask a fairly stupid question here: What was Mercury? Was it a good PSP game?

I am a bit unfamiliar with the PSP in general since I do not have one, and none of close friends have opted to go that portable system route.

Re: Good Games

Archer Maclean's Mercury for PSP - Archer Maclean's Mercury Sony PSP - Archer Maclean's Mercury PSP Game

It's like one of those games you used to get where you could tilt a board in a few different directions to get the ball to the end of the course. Kind of.
Except the "ball" is a blob of mercury (at least, I assume thats what it's meant to be, considering the title) and it's hellishly complicated - you have to change colours, open gates, split it etc etc.

Great fun, and I would imagine it'll work very well on the Wii, with the motion control and all.

Re: Good Games

OK, as a multi-platform (360, PSP, PC, DS) owner, I think the PSP has some great games irregardless of their portable nature. My faves are:

Wipeout Pure
GTA Liberty City (& Vice City) Stories
Killzone Liberation
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror

Socom's multiplayer features are great, as are MGS:PO's. Killzone is getting its upgrade soon, and with the PSP price drop, it's a good time for the PSP.

You can get demos of Killzone and Mecury off the PS store.

Re: Good Games

Fifa 07 is my personal recommendation...although the weird joystick like control sucks for sports games in my opinion.

Re: Good Games

I'd recommend Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, and Monster Hunter 1 and 2. Very nice.
