ATI vs. nVidia

Which brand do you guys perfer? Personally I'm an ATI man, from Rage 128 to Radeon 7500 to Radeon 9800NP and soon upgrading to an X850 XT. Call it fanboyism if you will, but ATI has given me great products in the past and I doubt they will dissapoint in the future.

Nvidia

I have worked in the games industry for 12 years and each year it changes who is the card to get right now it is Nvidia next year it will ATI again... But, to be honest with all of you either one is great and will run everything you need just get one with 256MB video ram...

ATI vs. nVidia

I have an ATI card in my laptop I didn't choose to have it but the doesn't bother me, it works great

But I don't why but if i bought a computer I could customise I would rather go for nVidia, I can't really say why :dunno:

CineMATTaG: reading your post, I almost thought I had already posted in this thread and you were me. Except I don't have a laptop. My thoughts are almost exactly the same. I'm having a hard time deciding what to vote for in the poll here, being an ATI owner, and an nVidia fan...

As for the 256mb ram requirement brandr, I'm sadly running a 64mb card right now... But I'm pretty sure the next video card I buy (hopefully very soon) will be a 512mb card.. :buttrock:

Oh, I have a question too... I haven't recently owned an nVidia card, do they come with TV out? I don't see it advertised for nVidia... Is it on some models but not as many as ATI... I have yet to see (as in physically see in use) an ATI card that doesn't have TV out...

I would definatly say nVidia at this point in time. I feel in the last few month nVidia has been a step ahead of ATI and I can't wait for the new 7900!

I have a Geforce 6800 GT in my destop and it runs games like BF2 great on 1280x1024!

I have tried both. Both are great. I can't make any comments on who is better becasue i am not a 3D designer.

I'd say nVidia, I haven't got anything against ATI but I've had 2 nVidia cards now and they've both worked like a dream, I'm saving up for the 7800 GTX

NAH!! ATI is still the best. Although it would cost more, but I do believe there are lesser incompatibility errors and less heat.

NVIDIA is just as powerful as ATI, and more compatible with games. Easy choice.

Re: ATI vs. nVidia

Nvidia for their products, but not their customer service. When the 8800 GTS came out for vista, i couldnt use it for a month, no replies and no answered phone calls.

But i havent ever used ATI, always stayed away from intel.

Re: ATI vs. nVidia

I prefer Nvidia, EVGA to be specific, but ATi isn't have bad either, I've had both brands in my rig(s) and haven't had much of a problem with either experience.
