My controller is going to the crapper...

Hey guys... One of my PS2 controllers is starting to bite the dust... the R2 button and X button are having issues... The x button just sometimes doesn't seem to work, or you have to press really hard... The R2 button, well it's hard to put into words... the plastic almost comes off, or else it pushes in...
Anyways, I was thinking about taking it apart and seeing if I could make it work a little better. I was wondering if anyone has ever taken apart a PS2 controller before, or any other game controller for that matter. I haven't decided to do it for sure yet, because it does still work, for the most part... but it won't for much longer... If I do take it apart, I'll post some pics up here.

ive taken apart many controllers, ps2 included. theres nothing to do in there since none of the parts are servicable. just see it as a loss and get another one.

That's about what I figured, but I thought it might be fun to take it apart... I like taking things apart and tinkering with them. With the X button being sticky, I thought I might get somewhere by cleaning it, because it looks like there might be some build up of something... where the plastic rubs together.

I seem to go through, like five or six controllers every year for some reason, overplayability or something. And I've also taken mine apart, with little or no success, in fixing them.

A lot of gamers have problems with their PS2 controllers. My friend had it too, small pieces of plastic stuck behind the R-button. Try to screw it open or just shake it a little (this last method isn't really good though). I have two official PS2 controllers that are broken.

my L and R buttons always seem to go first, then its my x button. 3rd party controllers are even worse they fall apart after only a month or two of intense use.

They only last so long. Sooner or later, they all start breaking down. It might just be best to go ahead and buy a new one.
