This is IMO, the best game on the PS2. The gameplay is much better then Fifa. The only reason people stick with Fifa, is because it has been around longer. A bit like IE really. Pro Evo (Evolution) may not have all the names and club names but the actual games are better. It is much more realistic, and pretty much impossible to score from the half-way line.

I would say, for fun it would be Fifa. But for the more serious gamer, then it would have to be Pro Evo.

Has anyone played both, or would like to contribute to this debate?

I used to play Fifa a lot, since fifa 96 or whatever version it was, that you could always score goals from the side, remember that?

It's impossible to compare the gameplay between ProEvo and Fifa. The players movements in Fifa don't look realistic, even the ball movement looks like something impossible sometimes... Pro Evo wins, hands down in all aspects. The only down-low of ProEvo is having the fake club names and others, but that is something you can take care of.

It is possible to change all the names you want, that's what I did. Renamed all the clubs and players names, removed some of the old players and added the new ones. I can't remember if you need to win some tourneys and unlock some stuff to edit this type of stuff, but once you do it everything will look like the real world. You can even change how the players look in hair style, face, skin color and etc.

I also agree with you... serious people that love a soccer game will chose Pro Evo, others who don't know the game or just want to play the fun will pick Fifa because it's more famous and has a big history behind it.

DodgyAnt, my favourite player in pro evo5 is ronaldinho gaucho, and yours?
