Age of Empires

Hi all! I'm new to this board and was just wondering if anyone else likes Age of Empires. I think it is one of my favorite games! I still haven't quite got the hang of AOE 3 yet though.

Re: Age of Empires

You can get AoE on your phone? Hahaha.

I used to play AoE a lot, especially AoE2. Been rather replaced now with the Total War games, and Rise of Legends.

AoE3 was kind of a disappointment, but I still lan up with a few roommates that like the game. It's far to slow of a game, that's reliant solely on resources, and not combat. I'll play John Deere's Farm Sim if I want that.

Total War's great, Medieval was a great game. Civ4 + Rome TW? Great stuff.

Rise of Nations is a phenomenal game. I've yet to pick up Supreme Commander yet, but RoN is by far my favourite RTS.

I didn't pick up RoL, but I know they're supposed to be in the same sub-niche, are they?

Re: Age of Empires

I liked AoE 1 and 2, played them quite a lot. I played AoE3 a bit but I prefer games like Empire Earth, Starcraft, and Warcraft3. Just... more, of everything. AoE is a good game in it's own right, but I feel that it has been outclassed by Blizzard's perfect record of fun games

Re: Age of Empires

I have yet to play AOE3, but I enjoyed AOE 1 and 2 quite a bit. They are very addictive. I can play either one for 3 or 4 hours straight.

Re: Age of Empires

I was never a fan of the first two...as for the third I can't play it as my graphics card just sucks...
