I like the story and single player in Gears of War but Halo 3 multiplayer is pretty sweet.

well iv never played Halo3 but i love gears of war on 1 player and multiplayer

I have played both games and I would have to say that the Halo storyline is better (it should be because they have had 3 games to evolve it) but Gears gameplay and online play blows Halo out of the water, mainly because Bungie messed up when they made Halo 3. It was to rushed and sloppy. But if you look at Gears it has good solid gameplay. So Cheers for Gears!!

The single player in gears could have a much beter story and last a bit longer. plus the endong as kinda low budget. but i love how u can run,duck,and shot over stuff. halo izmy fave

2 different types of gameplay. its hard to compare the 2 since gears of war is a more strategic, duck and shoot, 3rd person shooter while halo 3 is a run out and shoot kinda game with vehicles. not to mention it is a first person shooter

Well, Gears is utterly fantastic, no qualms there.
I have an invite to the Halo 3 beta, so will report back on how it plays. It looks way behind Gears at the mo - Gears had innovative, refined, gameplay that gave it a grittier pace than Halo's frantic snipe-across-the-battlefield-oh-crap-i'm-dead-again. If it's just Halo/2 with fancier graphics, so be it, it'll be good, but there is more expected of Bungie this time round, I think. In any case, I don't see why we have to compare games, I have Gears and preordered H3 months ago.
