Gears of War vs Halo 3

Bungie has 11 months to get their act together cause there's a new big dog in the yard Gears of War. This game is amazing on all fronts and its Bungie's job to step up to THEIR level now.

hm...........well its not like bungie has to compete with epic, they are fellow developers and look to each other for supports quite often, they are freinds. microsoft already said that their plan was to release a new gears and halo every other year, to help even things about and build a strong fanbase.

I'm not a huge Halo fan I thought that especially towards the end Halo looked far too samey in every room.

Gears of War was stunning from start to finish.

i agree, halos single player campaign is lackluster, but the multiplayer can keep me and my freinds occupied for hours upon end.

i think if bungie has any chance of out doing gears of war they are really gunna have to step up the campain and tweak live play

I agree that Halo 3 really needs to impress. I've never been a huge fan of the Halo universe, although I enjoyed the games and thought they were great for console FPS titles, a step above what usually comes to the console platform. My wish, would be that Halo delivers on all fronts, but that Gears becomes just as viable a franchise (as it's already becoming) so there is not a regurgitation of Halo titles thrown at us every time Microsoft needs a new killer app.

Well, Gears is utterly fantastic, no qualms there.

I have an invite to the Halo 3 beta, so will report back on how it plays. It looks way behind Gears at the mo - Gears had innovative, refined, gameplay that gave it a grittier pace than Halo's frantic snipe-across-the-battlefield-oh-crap-i'm-dead-again. If it's just Halo/2 with fancier graphics, so be it, it'll be good, but there is more expected of Bungie this time round, I think.

In any case, I don't see why we have to compare games, I have Gears and preordered H3 months ago.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to play Gears of Wars yet...but I'm really looking forward to Halo 3...and Halo 2 for the computer...when will it be out?

Good luck. Halo 2 is coming out for Vista only, and boats graphics somewhere between the original Halo 2's and the forthcoming Halo 3... the type of PC you'll need to play it... well... for the money you spend on the graphics card, you could just buy a 360. Really.

I get to play H3 on May 16th!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!

i think only playing online is the way to go...both story lines arnt the best
its only fun to play against other plays to see how skilled you are
