There was a news release stating the sales figures for the systems thus far, and the order of success is as follows:
Nintendo DS Nintendo Wii Xbox360 Playstation 2 Playstation 3 That is certianly not good news for Sony, but HD dvd's defeat by Blue Ray is.

Ps3 is more for the adult gamer, I'm thinking due to the price? For the hardcore. It kinda reminds me of a George Foreman grill.. From what I've seen, it's going to dominate this year.

Everyone here is saying all the BAD sides of the PS3 (which I own one).
The good sides: 1)The Price is up so high mainly because of the Blu-ray 2)Has FREE online (unlike the 360) 3)Great game line up and still coming out! 4)HOME is coming out 5)Gets updates,New info, and much more 6)Plays video games and blu-ray movies 7)Can Download themes, demos, PS1 games, games trailers, and more 8)Can Store videos, pictures, and music 9)SIXAXIS contorler plus the USB cord that can recharge it 10)the accesorys that you can get registered to the PS3 to use (for example the memory card adapter for the 60 gig so that you can play PS2 or PS1 games on it) 11)You can use it for meeting with friends with the PSeye and do stuff like invite people to online games 12)Uses wire OR wireless for internet uses If that isn't enough reasons, then your a stuborn person.... I Know that the 360 has Halo, but the PS3 has Resitance:Fall of Man, and coming out Resitance 2 coming out! another few reasons, but this time its what resitance 2 has that Halo doesn't 1)60 Player games 2)TWO campains that are TWICE as long as the 1st 3)8 player co-op mode After typing all that, I hope that I have gotten my point across....

I absolutely adored the playstation 2 system, and it marked the first departure I had from Nintendo. Honestly, I was all geared up to continue with Sony ever after. The price drop needed to happen, without a doubt despite how cocky the president of Sony was previously in press release meetings, but it had to happen without significant ramifications with the capability of the system, and that did not happen. There are some sever problems with attempting to play Playstation 2 games on a 20gb or 40gb "cheap" version of a Playstation 3.
And that is a draw back only for Americans. European gamers have it far worse, which is an immense hurdle for Sony. Almost all PS2 games, regardless of which version of the PS3 one buys there, do not work on the new system. In the battle between it and Xbox and Nintendo, Sony has essentially forfeited any dominence hope in European markets.

The PSP DOES fit in with the PS3. What it does is that you can buy or download videos and games from the PS store and import your movies, pics, and music from the PS3 to the PSP, OR the other way around!
