I've heard nothing but negative talk about this system on the streets. Don't know a single friend who will get one over 360 if they don't already have one. Anyone here planning to get one?

Maybe after they work out the bugs and the price goes down. For now, we're buying a Wii.

Not for the conceivable future. Two things need to happen: a) a significant price drop, and b) some games I actually want to buy.

I can't see myself buying one. I too have heard bad things about the system. It's far too expensive right now. If I wanted to spend that much money on gaming, I'd upgrade my computer instead, there's more games and the quality will always be better.

I totally agree with the significant price drop. The Xbox 360 has had almost a year head start so pretty much no one who got it is gonna shell out another thousand for another system.

i have a wii, and im having a lot of fun with that so far. ps3 is an amazing machine, but personally, i think its not worth the hefty price tage. my next console purchase will most likely be an xbox 360 (gears!)

Will probably get one as traditionally the Xbox consoles are RPG lite, but maybe the 360 is fixing that.

The price has to come down and at present none of the games really light my fire.

Again, the price is just far too high. I might consider buying it when it drops to £250. But only if FF13 stays exclusive.

The price of the PS3 is way too high indeed...but that's the price of bluray...dumb move from Sony...at least right now...but Microsoft can still implement hd-dvd in there's...360 users can follow either path...

To bee honest, really almost EVERYONE has a different taste of gaming...Like some people go for the wii, great. Some people like the 360, cool..But me, I'm a sony man myself. If you dont like it, then don't get it but I'm a die-hard sony fan and im sticking with it

I absolutely adored the playstation 2 system, and it marked the first departure I had from Nintendo. Honestly, I was all geared up to continue with Sony ever after. The price drop needed to happen, without a doubt despite how cocky the president of Sony was previously in press release meetings, but it had to happen without significant ramifications with the capability of the system, and that did not happen. There are some sever problems with attempting to play Playstation 2 games on a 20gb or 40gb "cheap" version of a Playstation 3.

And that is a draw back only for Americans. European gamers have it far worse, which is an immense hurdle for Sony. Almost all PS2 games, regardless of which version of the PS3 one buys there, do not work on the new system.

In the battle between it and Xbox and Nintendo, Sony has essentially forfeited any dominence hope in European markets.

its worth it if u want good games (and it has the same games as 360 except for halo but that game sucks) and it comes wit bluray and u can go online with it and online is free. id go with the ps3
