I was thinking that it would be called the revelution and then all of a sudden its called the wii, I thought it was a stupid name at first but now I got used to it.

its called wii because it sounds like 'we', meaning that everyone can play it, and play it together. the two 'i's in the actual word Wii represent people playing together.

That is interesting to hear why it is called Wii. It has taken awhile to get used to though.

Because it represents the whole 'play together' sort of group thing. They want families and non gamers to come and play. They are launching online and are focusing on communities. That and a lot of study groups found that in Japan many many people have trouble pronouncing 'Revolution'. A friend of mine who is japanese has a terrible time saying it and usually reffered to it as 'the rev' hah, that is before it's official name was released.

Why wii? Simply because it's loads of fun...trust me...big adults would enjoy playing the wii from what I've seen.
