Does anyone remember the game
Legend of Dragoon for the first Playstation console?
While I wouldn't suggest it was an amazing piece of gaming, I do find it to be a release that, despite gathering enough sales figures to warrant an inclusion in Sony's "Greatest Hits" line, has had little to none forum discussion throughout the net.
What were your impressions on the game?
Its biggest liability, for me, was the incredibly wooden dialog. The exchanges between the characters were, for the most part, forgettable and could be plugged into essentially any other game. Also,
Legend of Dragoon forces the love interest between Dart and his childhood friend, Shana, far too much; thus, making the love triangle between those two and Rose ineffective.
I did find some noteable strengths to the game, however. For one, the supporting characters in your party, with the exception of Shana perhaps, were interesting and well designed. Second, and some may disagree with me on this point, the battle system that forces a player to hit the attack button several times at the correct timings added much to the (sometimes) boring tradition of being sucked into battles in turn-based rpgs.
I am also a sucker for cinema clips, and this game had plenty of them after the first disc.
