Thumbs up Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

Does anyone else play this game? I personally think that WC3 is one of the best strategy games ever made. I still play the custom maps regularly online. The guys who created the idea for the "Defense of the Ancients" maps have worked harder on perfecting and expanding that scenario than any other I've seen
Blizzard seem to make games that last, hundreds of thousands still play starcraft. If they come out with a new one, count me in!

Re: Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

I play this game alot, recently I haven't been active though. I'm just above average on the solo ladder, its great because theres many competitive people I get to play, so much is involved and you have to adapt to win .

Re: Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

I play it from time to time but I like Starcraft better. There is just something about WC3's slower passed gameplay that I don't like. Way too much micromanagement I think.

Re: Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

Although I think Starcraft is one of the best strategy games of all time, I got annoyed with the lack of anti-ground towers and detectors. I've had years of entertainment on it, and I think they've taken all the best of that game into Wacraft3. I still go back and play the classic lurker defence, matrix defence, starship troopers, and other great maps though

Actually I miss Age of Empires II, that was on my favorite strategy games. I liked getting archers on horseback, used the mobility to my advantage.

Re: Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

I love wc3 because of their DOTA game. Anybody ever joined a tournament of DOTA?

Re: Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

Not a tourmament, no. I have played DOTA right through since the original Reign of Chaos beta maps though, including both complete rebuilds where the patches caused the map to become unrecoverable It has been designed and redesigned so many times that they have the balance just perfect, and are now working on more item builds.

Re: Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

lol, and that's what we call a flame. I don't just play DOTA you know
I find the standard maps quite boring, its just like playing all the other strategy games out there.
The user created maps though, is where WC comes into its own. The Great Strategy is a work of art, and the good old tower defenses have really propogated in this game.

Re: Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne

You could always just host a different map There are plenty of slots which aren't DotA, especially if you go off peak hours (such as after 12 year old's bedtimes).
