The Mario All Star package was great. I like to think that the game helped ready the market in selling more "best of" packages on later systems such as the Gamecube, Playstation, and Xbox.

Re: What about super nintendo
I think, apart from the obvious Link To The Past, Megaman X, and Super Mario World, that the game I've spent the most time on is Tetris Attack. A totally underestimated tetris mutation. The major difference between Tetris and Tetris Attack was that Tetris Attack was entirely player versus player. The game wasn't about surviving, it was about killing your opponent. And it was just so much addictive fun. Also, the puzzle mode was amazing.

Re: What about super nintendo
I've played quite a few old Nintendo games on the Wii. The variety of controller options and wide spread of games make it the best system around
Graphics are not as important as gameplay, ever. |

Agreed, Joel! Most (not all, most) SNES games have aged well. Amazing graphics will never be able to make up for crappy gameplay, I think. I can't begin to tell you how many people I know still have and use their SNES systems at least once a week.

Re: What about super nintendo
I have always had an SNES in the house since 1995, and always had to have Allstars. I've got Donkey Kong, Beavis and Butthead, Zelda, Illusion of Gaia...I also had to have either Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, and I now finally have a Kirby game (Super Star)...I wish I had an NES but I am just glad to have what I have!

Re: What about super nintendo
When I want to bring up the graphics card, I always tell kids about the original Oregon Trail or Frogger (or even Asteroids or Pong! haha)...not NES but still very funny because they had the worst graphics but so fun!

Re: What about super nintendo
Yeah, I'm so old school :P
I think a lot of kids these days miss out on how to keep themselves entertained with simplicity and a little bit of imagination. They seem to require such expensive things in order to stay busy. Blah! |
