Final Fantasy III

I was sitting in my motel room for the the second straight week while on an out-of-town work assignment and was incredibly tired of what cable television had to offer. After finding out that there was a game shop within in relative walking distance from the Motel 6, I purchased Final Fantasy III for the Nintendo DS.

Has anyone else played this game? The number sequence of the series was, at first, a bit confusing to me because the Final Fantasy American releases unwisely renumbered the series because America didn't originally publish all of the six original Final Fantasy games from the '90s. What is commonly known on the consoles as Final Fantasy III is really Final Fantasy VI.

The DS Final Fantasy III is the actual third Japanese installment of the series, and, to encourage gamers normally turned off by retro gaming, this version has been updated with completely enhanced 3D graphics.

I am a mere six hours into the game, but, thus far, I would recommend the purchase to others. My only wish is that the in-game character design didn't come across so "kiddy," but that was the original intent for the game from what I understand.

I only have a few hours into this game, but so far I love it. I think any FF fan will probably like it.

It's pretty good except for the fact that

the Onion Knights ruin the game because they are way way too strong.

I can't believe this thread...must be a coincidence!

I just started playing FFIII last week. I'm about 10 hours into the game now (right past a MAJOR plot point). I borrowed it from my boyfriend, because he was going to trade it in and I wanted to give it a go. I really like it, so far. I'll just ignore the above comment and enjoy anyway, hehe. I haven't quite reached the new job sets yet.

Is final fantasy a game worth playing? I have tried it before but never really got into it.

Almost any FF game is worth playing, the only one i didn't really enjoy was FFII. Right now I am 15hrs into FFIII.
