Let me lay out the scenerio and maybe someone here a bit more knowledgeable about the DS wifi connection can give me some tips:

I have purchased the Belkin Wireless G Router. When I first installed the software, I kept the security off (with the unlocked lock icon showing). I tested the Nintendo DS at that point, and was able to configure and connect to my location. Obviously, I was a bit nervous with keeping my location unlocked, so I locked it: red lock showing.

I wrote down the WEP hex key numbers (and have since rechecked it several times) before typing it into the setting configuration on the Nintendo DS. Instead of connecting now, however, I get only error messages.

What may I be doing wrong?

That quite likely depends on what the error messages say, do you have exact examples? And do the messages change with different settings?
