Kingdom of Loathing

Do any of you play this game? I have been on there about 4 years now. It's so much fun, all the artwork is like a bunch of stick figures; you can earn more adventures by drinking booze and everything has a pop culture reference.

If you haven't heard about it, take a look: http://www.kingdomofloathing.com

Re: Kingdom of Loathing

I played Kingdom of Loathing for a while, but stopped because it was taking up too much time that I needed to be doing other things. It was fun, though.

Hehe...took much of your time...it's true! It's addicting. Very funny and entertaining, so it's not just your average nerdy RPG. It reminds me of one of my favorite webcomics as well as my brand of humor.

I was playing EragonLive - based on the book and movie "Eragon" - but have stopped playing that, as well. They just consume too much time. EragonLive was similar to KOL in many respects.

Re: Kingdom of Loathing

Did you stop playing it because the movie came out and it got too popular and overrated or did you start playing it because you heard of the movie?
I like playing games that were around before they got popular ;P

Re: Kingdom of Loathing

I stopped playing because it was taking too much of my time. I do a lot of work online, and it was too easy to get sidetracked with the game rather than actually doing something I was going to get paid for.

I heard of the game just before the movie came out and thought I'd give it a try. That was in December. So I'd been playing it almost every day for 4 months, for hours at a time. That was just TOO much.

Yeah I could see how that would happen. My mom was the same way when we discovered Mah Jong a few years ago. I had to keep reminding her to do her work!

Don't even get me started on Mah Jong! LOL I guess it's just SO easy to get distracted with non-essential things, unfortunately. I just try to stay away from free game sites, now. It's the safest way.

Re: Kingdom of Loathing

I suppose I could get some people to check it out by posting a couple of screen captures of things from the game! Simple and very funny game to play, and easy advancements!

Re: Kingdom of Loathing

LOL, the car! Why on earth did they use "meat" as the main item? That's just too funny.

I think my favorite thing about KOL is the cheesy puns all the way through it. I'd sit here and chuckle as I played.

Re: Kingdom of Loathing

I don't know why on earth they chose meat as their legal tender...hmm...I think I may have figured it out just by my choice of words there!
Yes...the puns are the best as well as the fact that you can drink "booze" for more adventures!
