Some Reasons to buy a PSP
1. Portability
The main feature of the PSP is portability. It can basically hold all types of media in your pocket. You may watch videos, view pictures, and play music, and even play homebrew. I consider the portable games just a small plus to this. 2. Good Graphics PSP's have basically similar or better graphics than the PS2 3. Music Thousands of songs you can fit in your pocket. 4. Movies Watch full feature movies or just homemade videos wherever you go 5. Pictures Store 1000s of pictures on a single memory stick. You can even get a camera accessory so you can take pictures yourself. 6. Wifi Play games such as Socom wirelessly with people around the world! Even browse the internet with this small console. 7. Homebrew Homebrew. One of the main reason people buy a PSP. You can play custom made games and applications to expand all the functions of a PSP! |

I might just be biased but I prefer Play Station over Nintendo anyday. Just me though. |

I think the psp has 512 bits its graphics processor is clocked at 166mhz. I wouldn't suggest buying it at a pawn shop those places are rip offs but if you are going to a PSP new is around $199 and up depending on what type you get so don't pay anything more than $200 cheers

Thanks a lot for this post
I didn't know if it was worth it to buy a portable console and if I was going to whether to buy PSP or DS. Very informative.Besides the touch interface, does DS differ greatly from PSP other than the games? |

The thing that deterred me from purchasing a PSP was the price tag, especially as you could buy a PS2 for less. I suppose you are right in saying its all about portability, however I personally like to game when I have a lot of Free time and somewhere comfortable (mainly on my sofa).

I am an avid Nintendo fanboy but I sold my DS to buy a PSP. The reason was, I am also a huge fan of street racing and the culture surrounding it. The DS has a lot of fun and original games. But when it comes to racing games, the PSP pwns the DS. Mario-kart is worth the purchase price of the DS alone. The only reason I would recommend the PSP over the DS is if you like to watch movies or racing games.
