Lack off Online Play :(

One of the downsides of the gamecube was the lack of online play. I mean it existed, but only for Phantasy Star Online (which was a good game BTW). But I would of preferred to have it for other games like Super Smash Bros, Madden, Fifa and so on. Oh well, the Wii seemed to have fixed this problem.

Well because back then like with the PS2 online gameplay wasnt considered important. Most of the last gen consoles suffered from this, not all as bad as each other but I think you'll find the next gen or just launched will be a lot more "online" friendly.
