World of Warcraft Review

World of Warcraft

Introduction
World of Warcraft is a MMORPG online based game where players essentially train themseleves in in various aspects and skills. There are a several primary skills in which may be beneficial to your character in some way. There are also a few secondary skills in which provide some benefits to your character.

There are different worlds, and through the worlds you will encounter different creatures which may drop different types of items varying from weapons, armor, food, or other useful objects.

There are also two allegiances; Horde and Alliance. Depending on what allaiance you choose, depends on what type of character you may be.

Positives:
-Customization
-Many Quests
-Battlegrounds PVP System

Negatives:
-$15/mo.
-Seems Quite Repetitive

Conclusion
World of Warcraft is an awesome game, but although the quests are different you sometimes do similar things constantly. There are a lot of things that you can do to bypass your time, and I only mentioned a fraction of the elements of the gameplay.

Oh boy, my favorite subject

I have deep admiration for the Blizzard company. I fell in love with Starcraft/Warcraft when they first came out (I dabbled in Diablo and while I did like it, there were too many hacks) and loved them. To me, everything Blizzard touched was golden.

I loved World of Warcraft too, being a beta tester. However, the game has turned into a grindfest - mainting the aspects of Warcraft is what drew everyone in and then it just festered into an addiction. That's my theory as to why it became so popular. Anyway, when they implemented BGs it was no longer World of Warcraft but World of Instanced PvP. While this isn't horrible, I loved the days when there would be 40-man raids on small villages like Crossroads.

The Burning Crusade (expansion) turned me off to the entire franchise at this point. Not only did it mangle the WC3 plotline and left it to rot in the sun, but it made the grindfest to Grand Marshal pointless.

I know by now you must think it's a piece of trash. Well, don't get me wrong if you haven't played WoW yet, you definitely should dabble in it. In a lot of aspects it is a very original MMORPG. It does have its pros, as the OP stated: being newbie friendly and easy to level, nostalgic characters from WC3 (Thrall, Jaina, Syvlanas, etc), beautiful graphics, and PvP is as simple as joining a battleground. Also, the expansion features The Cavern of Time, the single COOLEST instance of all time where you actually go back in time and save Thrall (WC3 warchief) from certain doom, amoungst other things. It also has 2 new races, which isn't bad either.

World of warcraft is an addicting game which have destroyed numerous lives. It is very sad of how many people ditch school and other things that messes up their future. Whats worst is people not eating because this game is so addicting that they forget to eat. But hey, blizzard is a billion dollar company now.

Well, every game will has it's addicts and I don't think it's the company's fault these people get addicted. It's like ciagarettes - the company's do not force a cig in their mouth and force them to puff - it's their own choices. An extreme example but same basic principles.

All MMOs are notorious for getting people addicted. EQ (the first MMO) was even worse imo. People are now just starting to realize that you can get emotionally addicted to pretty much anything, at least.

I've been playing World of Warcraft since it's original release and recently acquired the expansion. While I love the game and find it the best out there, (believe me I've tried finding other games to play) I do think there are still many flaws and imbalances within the game. However if you wine enough and get others to cry with you Blizzard will most likely fix it.
Just wanted to throw out there though the huge imbalance at the moment on the new servers of faction ratios. On the newest PvP server there Horde :: Alliance ratio is about 6 to 1 (Auchindoun Server). I was actually wondering how bad it is for other people? Is there this huge difference in population on all servers? Or just mine?

I find World of Warcraft a fun game to play. I don't play it anymore due to the monthly payment. But i am thinking of resuming it soon.

The game is quite good, but i've had a lot of bad experience while playing the game. That was also another reason i quit.

I heard it was addicting to the point of ruining your life, but that sounds fun. The reason I never play it is because when I wasn't working, I couldn't get the $15/month fee justified with other expenses I had with no income.

Now that I work, and go to school full time, I don't have time. Next year in college I might pick it up.

A great game to play, I usually play it when i'm bored at nights i'll play for 4-5 hours with my mates from school. I just love the game for it's interesting plot and the weapons you can use. But i barely play it anymore since it's to easy and I find it hard to play when i'm filled with jobs.
