Playing PS2 games on your PS3

If I remember correctly Sony guarantees compatibility of your PS2 games on the new PS3. We say the same thing when the PS2 came out, but I personally never looked back to PS1 games.

For those of you that are going to buy a PS3, will you bother playing your PS2 games on it? Do you think this backward compatibility is a useful feature or should Sony not bother with it in the future?

Personally I don’t need the feature, but then again my favourite games quickly have the next generation successor available.
