The European launch date for the Playstation 3 has been confirmed for 23rd of March.

For a 60GB model of the PlayStation 3 will cost a nice £425 , the 30GB model will be following release later in the year.

Sony is set to make 1 Million PlayStation units available during the big European launch.

Sony has also said that there is a big line up of over 30 game titles set to be released for the PlayStation 3 , from classic games like Sonic , Lemmings and Tekken. They also state that there will be a wide range of downloadable games for the PlayStation 3 Network.

Over 350,000 users have downloaded Gran Turismo HD concept since the release in December in North America and Japan.

With the set release date announced they said that there will be a new system update to fix a few issues and make the PlayStation 3 work a lot better.

David Reeves, President of SCEE said the following:
"Following the hugely successful launches of PS3 in Japan and North America, we are absolutely delighted to be able to bring significant numbers of PS3 to the SCEE territories.

"To be able to launch with over 30 titles across every genre shows that this is our strongest launch line-up in the history of PlayStation, and is what PlayStation fans in Europe have been crying out for."
