hey gauravjain
i have amd processor
it is amd athlon 3500+

the biggest advantage with amd is that they all work on L3 cache unlike inter which have L2 cache so this make amd much better than the inter processors

but when it comes to ghz inter has 3.08 ghz processors in the market though 3500+ shows just 2.5 ghz but i have personly compaired speed by windows intalling and all and 3500+ is much faster

hope the info will be usefull for you
have a nice day

Could it be the folks over at Intel are getting a little nervous? Word on the street is the rival Advanced Micro Devices has been eating their lunch in the small, but very lucrative four-way server business

Currently intel is leading in desktop performance ,but that is with core2duo processors and not the old pentium 4 processors.

If you are looking for single core go for the amd 3500+ it is faster than intel single core 3.4ghz processor. it also runs cooler and consumes as little as 40 watts under load.

Gaurav may i assume you reside in india cause my recommendation would take that into consideration.
currently the amd 3500+ processor is priced at 4000rs . However the dual core amd x2 3600+ is priced at 6000 which is the way to go if u ask me. dual core processors are very good for multitasking.

Currently if you are looking to buy intel processor go for nothing other than the core2duo processors. If u want an amd pc go for socket am2 ones.
