No More PC Floppy Drive's?
As many of you may of noticed when buying a PC over the last few years there has been no Floppy drive, the 3.5-inch drive often used for the computers A drive, is soon to be no longer sold by the leading UK computer chain PC world.
The reason being is that user's no longer use Floppy drive's to store there files , now days people just put in a CD-R and copy it to the CD as it stores more files on the CD than the floppy drive ever did, and with the USB flash drive on the market there is not really any need for Floppy's no more. With PC world making a stand and not ordering no more PC's with floppy drives , this will make a lot of manufacturers think about doing the same like Apple, Dell , Gateway. In my option i think floppy disc's died a long time ago. |

The multiple use of USB port has something to with the apparent extinction of 3.5 floppy disk drive. For a PC user, it is more pratical nowadays to buy a USB flash drive than a 3.5 floppy disk drive. I could not recall the last time I used a floppy diskette. It is not a reliable medium for storage.
