Sony PSP now cheaper in the US
Sony Computer Entertainment America will be cutting the price of there handheld system the PSP by 15 percent or $30USD. The system is to begin retailing around $170USD in efforts to stay competitive with Nintendo's handheld the DS. The PSP has been on the market for three years and has fallen in popularity compared to the DS lately.
This is good news for fans of Sony's handheld but isn't likely to have a major impact unless the games for the system start to come down a bit also. Consumers are a lot more aware about the overall market these days. Saving thirty dollars is nice but this also means that if games remain at the same price they will be approaching half the systems overall cost which isn't very appealing. Price is one of the most attractive features drawing gamers to Nintendo's line of products. |
