Timing is everything, I suppose, because I checked out that online game last night. After signing up, building a character, and playing around a bit, it is safe to say that the contents of the game is quite suitable for younger players, and you have nothing to worry about.
I agree with others that this game is meant for the rpg novice or younger player as far as challenge and structure goes, but I had noticed some tongue-in-cheek inside puns toward traditional turned-based games in general, and, perhaps, that will help more weathered players of the genre to give
Dragon Fable a chance. It is free, after all.
Speaking of the concept of free, there is only one concern I have for the parent out there. Be prepared to have your child, if he/she does start to play it on a regular basis, to ask you to pay for an upgrade. In hopes of making some money,
Dragon Fable offers character upgrades that are only available for purchase, not aquired by in-game point earning.
