Mario 64 and other ported Mario Games

One of the nice things that I have seen happening on both the Gameboy Advance and the Nintendo DS is the Mario classics being ported to said handheld systems for another generation of gamers to enjoy.

For instance, I picked up Super Mario 64 DS while on the road recently, and I must say that, not only have I enjoyed reliving the gaming experience I had with the game back in the Nintendo 64 days, but I am quite fond of the added features the DS has placed to further encourage veteran players to repurchase the game. The original version of Super Mario 64 only had one playable character, and that was Mario. With the DS version, a player can now earn (through certain accomplishments) the ability to play as Wario, Luigi (who was greatly missed), and Yoshi. Each of the characters have their own special attributes. The DS version has also included many minigames to earn and play, all taking advantage of the touch screen feature of the DS: something that seems largely overlooked by other DS games on the market.

I was wondering what were other people's feelings on the ported Mario games on the DS?
