Old PC games
Can anybody recommend any good, older PC games since I don't really have the hardware to run the newer games nicely, if at all? I am interested in pretty much any genre but I would appreciate it if you suggest games other than FPS and RTS games (I already know about Warcraft, CS and Half Life). Here are the ones I already own.
WoW (but no active account and might sell)
Age of Empires 1
Neverhood
Flight Simulator 98
Microsoft Puzzle Pack
Dilbert's Desktop games
I have had the above games since '97 when I got the computer before the one I have now. Here are the stats of my computer to give you guys an idea on what games to suggest.
768 MB RAM
Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
integrated graphics card
only a CD drive (that means no DVD)

Re: Old PC games
It would help if you could specify your CPU type and speed as well.
Have you ever tried the Baldur's gate series? Classic RPGs which are still some of the best.
If you liked Age of Empires you may enjoy Empire Earth, it's on a much grander scale but something your PC could probably play.
Having an integrated graphics card is quite a setback game-wise. Even a cheap £20-40 card would free up your PC's bus and RAM for other processes.
Also the Civilization games have become a staple of turn based stragegic players. Your PC may be best suited to Alpha centauri or Civ2.

Re: Old PC games
My husband liked the King's Quest games, and they generally ran on older machines. They might be something you'd like to look at getting. YOu could probably find them cheap on ebay.

Re: Old PC games
I kind of wish I had an old computer so I can play all the really old school games! I love the simplicity yet they were ahead of their time.

Re: Old PC games
I was disappointed that Red Alert (one of the best RTS games ever) could only be played on Win95, but I hear they've released a newer version which can be played on all systems.

Re: Old PC games
I've never heard of Red Alert. I'm guessing it's similar to Doom or something like that?

Re: Old PC games
It's one of the Older Command & Conquer series. A classic strategy game with Soviet Russia vs the Allies (Hitler was killed and germany joins the Allies in WW2)
You must have heard of C&C, C&C Renegade, C&C Generals, C&C Tiberian Sun, C&C Red Alert 2, C&C Tiberium Wars or at least one of those

Re: Old PC games
You could try to get one of the older Tomb Raider games for your PC. I always enjoyed those.
