Gaming Addictions

How much time is just too much for gaming? What types of games encourage the addictions? Do you even feel an addiction to games is a relevant trend taking place today?

As more and more of the population spend their free time playing video games, and more long lasting demographic barriers are shattered, the more paramount in importance this topic may be.

Thoughts?

Re: Gaming Addictions

1 hour = enough gaming. bad for your eyes looking at the computer screen too long, or at least play for an hour and take a good 30 minute break doing something away from a screen.

games that encourage addiction - all good games really that are just continuous like football games or counter strike.

it is up to you really to take care of yourselves.

Re: Gaming Addictions

o.o

You're being way too unrealistic czech. For the past week (since it's winter break) all I've done is sit in front of the computer and play mmorpgs with my friends. Last night I was up until 5am grinding, and I didn't notice I was sleepy until my brain started to twitch o_O

So I guess THAT would be too much time. If you deprive yourself of food, sleep, and basic movement that includes something other than walking four feet to the bathroom, it's too much.

Guess I better take a walk or something -_-;

Re: Gaming Addictions

funny topic you got going here, i guess from a scientifical viewpoint, each person is different...longer stamina, resistance to white flashes from MMORPGs (ie flashbangs) i dunno, i guess that this topic is really the base of some scientifical research???? good thinking Lee

You must not play a lot of games. You can accomplish very little in just an hour.

Re: Gaming Addictions

Its an addiction once it starts to effect other areas of your life - friends, family, girlfriend etc. Got to remember its not reality.

Though to be honest i say playing for an hour at a time is reasonable.
