I've got several favorites. 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, a Mazada RX-8, BMW 325i, and a Volkswagen Jetta (what i drive).

Maruti Alto is a good fuel efficient car. Fuel consumption directly depends upon the car maintenance, driver and driving habits. From a five years old Alto Vxi (1100 cc) I take over 17 kms without AC and around 15 kms with AC on city roads.
