The days of Jak X online racing is, sadly, at an end. Sony will be officially pulling the plug on the game---meaning there will be no online racing---as of June 30th of 2008.

The end of service announcement is applicable for both the European and American servers.

If you have any parting words about the game, here is the thread to share them.

Sorry about the anger, but I can't belive it!!!
Man, the worst possible time! I tried to go on last night but it just kept saying cannot conect.
Of all the games that I like to play online, it just had to be this one....well it was fun playing it online,but now playing it offline just isn't the same.
Well, I did have fun online and being apart of Gunslingers (though we never reached #1 clan)
Hopefully there will be another game online just like it where we can start all over again!
It really is sad to see Jak X online terminated....

Ya that bits i loved that game. I wold hop that all the Gunslingers members would try to fiend a game we can all fiend so we can make a nother Gunslingers or somthing i thank that would be hella cool dont you thank so?

Well, it was fun online. Probably something I won't forget for awhile.

I agree with both of you: these are sour times, indeed......even if only the most obsessed and die-hard fans showed up at the end.

Speaking of the end, I am getting the feeling that Sony "unofficially" pulled the plug early due to my own inability of signing onto the system.

It was so great playing with you two and keeping our clan, despite some people's best efforts, to remain on the top ten list in all of North America. My best wishes to everyone who were still in Gunslingers to the bitter end, and all of those who graced our ranks throughout the last year.

I am all for keeping tabs with the rest of the clan, and PLEASE let me know whatever games you play in the future. As for keeping the namesake of our clan alive, I would be excited to do so. The real mystery is figuring out which games. To answer Pasta, no, I don't have a Playstation 3, and I doubt I will be able to pick one up before the end of the summer.

I do have a Nintendo Wii. Don't be surprised to see a sub board for a Mario Kart Wii clan to pop up on this board. The clan name? Somehow, "Shellslingers" seem appropiate. I have been searching the internet, and I have found many clans are already alive and kicking, which is good because the online server doesn't have an online option so people have been sharing the clan's leader's friend code for the game, and setting up times to compete. The game DOES have team races that echo Jak X's clan challenges and actually does a better job of making sure all weapons don't hurt your own teammates. Better yet, Gunslingers---Shellslingers---would compete in international clan ladders this time around.

It doesn't sound like, however, either of you have that combat racing game, so, another option that does have a clan option on the online server for the Playstation 2, is SOCOM. Naturally, Gunslingers would be appropiate, although I pretty much suck at the game at this point. Perhaps Marvel Ultimate Alliance would be another good suggestion for the Playstation 2.

Any other suggestion is completely welcomed, and I promise to do my best to accommidate anyone interested.

Regardless of what happens, I really do hope to keep in touch with the rest of you, and my hopes are that you two and others in the clan will use this forum to keep me updated. I would hate to make friends on Jak X only to lose touch with them the moment the server goes down.

Well, the online games I have are:
Jak X (though we won't be able to use that anymore.... )
Splinter Cell:Chaos theory
Star Wars: Battlefront (does ANYONE play this one anymore?!)

Well this REALLY does put me back, because I don't have a wii for Mario Kart,
but if you get a PS3 McMurphy, get resistance (then we can bring Gunslingers back!) and even though your not very good at SOCOM, I'm sure you'd be at resistance. It's REALLY easy to learn and you can make clans! (not so sure about the enitre clan thing on there though)

But just in-case you ever do get a PS3, my username is Pasta07.

The PS3 online games I have are:
Resistance:FoM
Motorstorm
Dynasty Warriors 6 (not really a clan kinda game)
Turok
The Simpsons Game (same deal with Dyansty Warriors 6)

Well in-case we don't get to be in another clan together, I hope you guys win at whatever you are playing online!

P.S. I get the same felling about the premature termination of the server too.

I have heard so many good things about Resistance that, if I am to get a PS3, it would certainly be on the top of my list. Of course, if you have a clan going or decide to make a clan for that game, regardless if you use the Gunslingers name or not, I am sure it could be arranged to put up a Resistance Clan subboard to host your clan.

Ok sweet! I'm probably gonna make a Gunslinger clan on resistance and I think that a sub-forum for it would be awesome! Oh and my username is Pasta07 on the PS3.

yeah i'm REALLY gonna miss this game online... its still great, nd i'm pretty sure i could LAN with my friends for fun!

I believe the sole reason behind the online server closure is simply due to Sony feeling that the amount of players playing Jak X and the other games in the list do not warrant the cost of maintaining the feature.

That is playable online for ps3. Just like with deadlocked.

That would be really cool. Jak X was one of those games that was great online. If they ever did that, I'd hope that they would make it with better graphics for like the slow-mo cam and stuff.
