Why join an online gaming clan?
You know I owned my PS3 for like 8 months before I ever joined a clan. When I got it I bought COD 4 with it and loved the game. I played the campaign a few times and played online a lot. But after a few months I got bored because the only modes worth playing by yourself were Team Deathmatch and Free For All. All the objective based games were no fun because no one would work together.
When W@W came out I decided I was going to make an effort to get some online friends to play with. A clan seemed the best route and I was fortunate to stumble upon a posting on the Call of Duty website about a clan called Shadow Company. After a little investigation on their website (they call it the Shadow Company Headquarters) I realized that this was an organization that was professional, had an organized rank structure and squad system, and put fun before skill. Since I've joined I've never looked back. The best part was that they supported a lot of PS3 franchises and keep adding new ones all the time. I've now had the opportunity to meet hundreds of other people from all across the US, Canada and Europe and my friends list is growing. I'm always telling people I meet in public matches to check us out and say "tell em RydogV sent ya".
But a lot of people snicker and say rude things and I was just wondering why that is? So my questions are: Have you ever looked into a clan? What prompted you not to join? And if you wanted to join (but didn't) what qualities would you look for in your ideal clan?
If this post motivates you into joining a clan then my advise is do your homework. There are a lot of clans out there but the great ones are few and far between.
